While the clarinet enjoys a vast and expressive repertoire of its own, it also offers a compelling voice through the lens of music originally composed for other instruments. In this imaginative program, clarinetist Kyle Coughlin and pianist Kuei-I Wu present a richly varied selection of works by Mozart, Schumann, Poulenc, and C. P. E. Bach—each masterfully reimagined for clarinet and piano. Cellist Katy Chiang will join the ensemble to conclude the program with Mikhail Glinka’s beautiful Trio Pathétique.
Featuring:
Kyle Coughlin, Clarinet
Kuei-I Wu, Piano
Katy I-Hsuan Chiang, Cello
