The Purpose of Armed Forces Day
Armed Forces Day was treated to unify the public in support of the military branches. Unlike Veterans Day or Memorial Day, which honor past service members or those who died in service, Armed Forces Day celebrates active-duty personnel. It highlights their ongoing commitment to national security and peacekeeping missions worldwide.
This day encourages civilians to learn more about the military’s role and the challenges service members face. It also provides an opportunity for families of military personnel to feel appreciated and supported by their communities.
