The National Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual two-week event that celebrates springtime in Washington, DC. It commemorates a gift of 3,000 cherry blossom trees in 1912 from the Mayor of Tokyo to the nation’s capitol. The annual celebration honors the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan.
