Col. Troy S. Johnson took command of U.S. Army Garrison Aberdeen Proving
Ground (USAG APG) on June 6, 2025, with a clear vision: to foster open
communication, strengthen partnerships, and build on a storied history of
innovation and service.

As he settles into his new role, Col. Johnson brings more than three decades of
Army experience—five combat tours, a breadth of leadership positions, and a
steadfast commitment to teamwork—to the Army’s oldest active proving ground.
